Franco-Brazilian Biomedical Innovation Forum

2015

Date: 19 and 20 October 2015 in São Paulo

Aviesan’s Institute of Health Technologies, with the support of numerous French partners, including the Institute of Public Health, and Brazilian partners, including the Butantan Institute, are organising a Franco-Brazilian forum on the use of health technologies that should enable access to care for the most vulnerable populations. Areas covered will include imaging, drug development, biomaterials and e-health.

This event, which will be held in São Paulo on 19 and 20 October 2015, is open to researchers involved in developing health technologies, and biotech companies in the field. The Forum is organised around scientific presentations and round table discussions for the purpose of sharing research projects and identifying the regulatory, societal and financial issues that enable development and innovation in the area of these technologies.

Poster sessions and B2B meetings should enable the initiation or strengthening of academic interactions between academics and biotech companies in both countries. Information and details of registration are available on the website f2bif.aviesan.fr.

Place of medical devices in the French national health strategy: watch the ESEC session live

27

01

2015

As Parliament prepares to debate the Health Bill, the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (ESEC) has decided to address a subject that is essential for the health of the French people and of great importance to the economy, but insufficiently emphasised by the public authorities: medical devices. There are between 800,000 and 2 million of these devices in France. Such a proliferation requires that measures be taken to improve safety and quality, to offer better access to innovative and useful medical devices, while limiting the residual contribution to be paid by households, and link health policy and industrial excellence. Find out more about the work of ESEC regarding the place of medical devices in the French national health strategy
